Supervise law students as they meet with unrepresented clients at
their
reaffirmation hearings in Bankruptcy Court. The students review
reaffirmation agreements
presented to he
client by their creditors and
then make
recommendations to the Court.
Self Service Center Pilot Project
Supervise
law students as they meet with pro se litigants at the Pima
County Superior
Court Self-Service Center. The project focuses on
family law cases
and helps participants prepare to represent
themselves at
trial, handle discovery and disclosure requirements,
calculate child
support and draft motions.
Guardianship Clinic
This VLP Guardianship Clinic provides prospective guardians of
minors with legal assistance in requesting a guardianship in probate
court. Through this project, volunteer attorneys conduct clinics at
the
VLP office to answer questions concerning guardianship and to help
the prospective guardians complete the requisite legal paperwork.
Minor Guardianship Court Program
Supervise law students as they meet with unrepresented clients at
their guardianship
hearings in Probate Court. The students will
explain the
proceedings and review the client’s file to ensure that
the paperwork is
in order and that all of the legal requirements have
been met.
Students then have the opportunity to appear before the
Court and offer
the court their recommendation as to whether the
client
should be awarded guardianship.
